Flipkart / Amazon / Meesho refund complaint
Refund not received after a return or cancellation on an e-commerce platform (Flipkart, Amazon, Meesho and others).
Consumer route. Try the National Consumer Helpline first (1915 / consumerhelpline.gov.in), then file on e-Jagriti. Find your forum & fee →
You returned a product or cancelled an order, the refund never came, and support keeps saying “wait 24–48 hours”. File with the NCH first, then the Consumer Commission.
What you can get
Full refund of the amount paid, compensation for harassment and mental agony, and the cost of filing.
Steps
- Write to the platform once more in the app or by email and keep a screenshot — the Commission wants proof you tried.
- Register the grievance with the National Consumer Helpline — call 1915 or file at consumerhelpline.gov.in. Keep the docket number. Many refunds are settled here within about 30 days.
- If the NCH route fails, file a consumer complaint on e-Jagriti (e-jagriti.gov.in). The forum depends on what you paid: up to ₹50 lakh goes to the District Commission.
- Pay the fee on the portal — nil if what you paid is up to ₹5 lakh.
- Upload the complaint, the notarised affidavit, the order/invoice, payment proof, return proof and your messages with the platform, all as PDFs.
- Track the case on your e-Jagriti dashboard. The opposite party must file its version within 30 days (extendable by 15).
Documents to prepare
- Order confirmation and invoice
- Payment proof (UPI / bank statement / card slip)

- Your written complaint to the platform and any reply
- Notarised affidavit supporting the complaint
Frequently asked questions
- How long do I have to file?
- Within 2 years of the date the problem arose (Section 69, Consumer Protection Act, 2019). The clock usually starts when the refund was due and not paid.
- Do I need a lawyer?
- No. You can file on e-Jagriti yourself as a party-in-person. The fee is nil if what you paid is up to ₹5 lakh.
- Which forum hears my case?
- It depends on what you paid as consideration, not the compensation you claim: up to ₹50 lakh — District Commission; above ₹50 lakh to ₹2 crore — State Commission; above ₹2 crore — National Commission.
